The email format is better as you can have an immediate answer. You can monitor if the message is delivered, how many have open it and you can tell which version of email is most effective. Good quality control and testing are key to effective email marketing design. Periodic A/B split testing, in which email recipients randomly receive one of two variations on a email design to determine which is most effective.
